So where did it come from?

Ok, let's suppose you're a musician. You travel back in time an leave a copy of an entire career's worth of hit music for your younger self to become a superstar. Of course, you already know the music is good because it made you rich and famous. So the younger you never wrote a single song but was simply given everything. The older (current) you only had the music to deliver to the younger you because it was a gift when you were young. Nobody ever created anything, but there's a whole plethora of music. So where did it come from?

Now don't bother telling me about paradoxes between two yous meeting or giving me the line of "time travel is impossible" - because you said so nonsense...

Where did that music come from?

I'd the say the music came from the younger self's mind. This is because even if the older self hadn't gone back in time, the younger self would have already had the music (as he had initially passed it to the older self).

So going back in time and re delivering the music to the younger person seems a redundant act.

But that's assuming causation moves from past to present to future.

If causation actually works in the opposite direction, then the act of the older self giving the music to the younger self might be essential? So, in this case, you could argue the music originated with the older self?

You wrote it the first time you went through this scenario. Your scenario does not show the first time you went back in time. If you state that you got the music from your younger self, you are not traveling back in time the "first" time since you have already done it.

The first time you went back in time you lived your life linearly. You were born, grew up, learned music and wrote great songs that got you incredible wealth. You were then able to buy the necessary equipment (or pay others) to develop a time machine. At this point, you went back in time and met yourself, creating a circular life line. This is where your younger self is given the music you wrote and that appears to be a paradox, but it simply requires you to go back further in time than the last time travel.
