He wants the Hispanics to vote for him. He probably knows little to nothing about ww2, so he doesn't care.

The President did not shut down any Memorials. The border situation has been caused by Bush43-era immigration policies, with conservatives do not like now. When Obama wanted to negotiate changing the immigration policies, conservatives refused to do so. Go figure.

Obama has 2 "modes" if you will
1. Doing nothing
2. Hurting the public
Securing the border won't fit with either of those.

Because he needs approval from Congress to close the borders, and the Republicans in Congress voted AGAINST closing the border.
