How long would it take to get my license?

Okay guys, I have been slacking on starting drivers ed xD I'm 17, and will be turning 18 in less than 6 months. Here you have to have your permit for 6 months before you can get your DL, but once 18 you don't even have to take the course... My dad is making me take the course though :P So, will I still have to wait the 6 months or will my turning 18 override the rule?

It really depends on your state! For one, in most states you only need your permit for a short time if you get it after you turn 18. As for drivers education, most states don't require you to take drivers education after 18. Which is smart because I happen to be in one of the VERY few states that require you to take drivers education no matter if your 15 or 55 and lemme tell you, IT DOES NOT HELP. The only thing I can say that it helped me with is knowing the signs and what they mean a little more. It was a waste of time and a waste of $350, but then again, this is just me. I would just look up the laws in your state or just call your states DMV.

Depends on the law in your unnamed location. In most at age 18 restrictions no longer apply. A few states they continue, if Texas for example you need classes if you are under age 25.
