Opinions on Kel Tec P32 in general.?
Owned one Kel Tec product, the P-11 double stack 9mm and quite frankly it was the second worst pistol I have ever owned. ( Phoenix Arms the worst, but that was only bought for the range not defense. )
Looking for a Semi Auto to basically replace the NAA Mini Magnum, and I'm more or less zeroing in on this or the NAA Guardians.
Is the newer P-32's really better then they used to be? Been reading a lot on them today and apparently the Frames and Slides have been beefed up and internals replaced to fix all the old issues? You Tube seems to love them for some reason.
Thanks all.
Wanting to avoid the .380 in a platform this small. Owned a Taurus TCP in .380 and follow up shots due to the micro recoil was annoying to say the least.
Meant to say Micro's recoil sorry.

I've owned several P-32's and have purchased them for friends, as well.
I experienced few issues with the older ones, and none with the newer. They are a little more finicky on ammo than my Colt Pocket Model 1903.
The first shot fires every time, and the little gun is more accurate than it has any right to be. Recoil is not particularly bad, but it's no .22, either.
The P-32 is a pocket holdout gun, or "church gun" -- you know, the gun you carry when everyone thinks you should be unarmed, but the law says you don't have to be? Yeah.
I like mine. It works for me and hits where I aim it. Malfunctions have primarily been ammo related. The only replacement I've had to make is, apparently, when thrown across the room at high velocity due to anger issues, the plastic dust cover portion of the frame breaks on impact.
So I've adapted to this minor shortcoming by not having psychotic girlfriends who do that anymore.

I got one when they first came out (1999 or 2000 I think?) & still have it.
Not what I would call reliable but it got much better after I super glued the separate guide rod tab to the slide , did some work on the ramp & filed the mag release button down a little.
Never had any problem at all with the plastic guide rod or pinned extractor so their still in there.
Sounds like a lot of unnecessary fiddling but Seecamps were $600 back then if you were lucky enough to find one & nothing else but 25's were that small. .
Got a P3AT a few years ago & its a completely different pistol altogether, quite reliable.
Oddly enough I still pocket carry the old P32 most of the time.
Mainly because the bluing is already gone, it always fires the first shot at least & with the old triangle top slide that first shot always go's right where I'm looking!
Also I still have several boxes of old CorBon 32 HP's to use up.
If the new P32's are made like the new flat top P3AT's I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one to anybody.

My Kel Tec P-32 has shot flawlessly ever since I owned it. It has over 700 flawless rounds thru it. These are hollow points and round nose FMJ. I only carry it with round nose FMJ because they give better penetration. I only use the 7 round magazines and have a pinky extension on both magazines. I can hit head and shoulder shots from 3 to 30 feet.
IMO the P-32 is the best pocket gun because with low recoil you can shoot it with 1 or 2 hands.

Its not an easy to find gun- thats for sure. I have several friends that use them as pocket guns- and swear by them.
Actually I have been looking for one. What few times I have seen one.....I didn't have the extra cash.
I hear that if you add the hooked finger rest to the P-32 it makes a lot of difference.

Personally, I would step up to a .380ACP platform (and I have put my money where my mouth is, since I own a Sig P238).
But, you've already said you're against that option.
So, my opinion is "caveat emptor".
