    A.

Global stratification is the system of inequalities between countries. When one power is greater, it seeks to dominate the other, and when a weaker power feels repressed, such tension can lead to acts of terror when the weaker party begins to see the stronger party's power as being corrupt and a danger to their way of life. And when this happens, the weaker party will of course try to rectify the problem, often through acts of violence because they feel that is the only way to get through to the stronger party. Of course, this opinion is flawed, but you can see this in a lot of terrorist activity, such as the Irish Republican Army's attacks against their British oppressors and Al Qaeda's anti-Western philosophy being heavily rooted in the post-WWI occupation of the Middle East by European powers (and the formation of Israel after WW2, not to mention the present day U.S. occupations).
