They are attorneys, they bill by the hour and help the dead beat foreclose without being sued further.

They make money by charging fees from people who are facing foreclosure. They may provide information that is already easily available, or they may assist borrowers with applying for programs like HAMP or negotiating settlements with lenders. The websites that I have seen offering these services seem largely like scams to get money out of desperate people, or at least dangerously close to the unauthorized practice of law. Maybe there are some valid ones out there.
