Bad reaction to 10mg Lexapro! Any thoughts?

Update:

I woke after 4 hrs (roughly 4am, normally 6+ am). I was suffering from nausea, anxiety, tingling in upper extremities, dizziness, and different parts of my face are twitching a little bit. The symptoms did not subside until about 20 hours after I took that first pill. Suicidal thoughts did increase. Needless to say I am not taking another one.

Update 2:

This was only the first dose. Yes, I did call the Dr.'s office and yes they said not to take another one and scheduled an appointment for later today. I was really hoping the Lexapro would have helped. Since the love of my life left me after four years I feel like my world ended. I am 15lbs down (skinny to begin with) and lost all interest in everything. I went from a very active life to not leaving my couch except for work.

Go talk to your doctor but do not discontinue until directed to do so because withdrawal may occur even though you've only just began treatment. Most doctors like mine will let you wait in their office until they can squeeze you in for urgent situations like this. Sadly, treatment takes time and there is no one miracle pill for everyone. I take lexapro 20mg and it is a god send for me. Someone else I know takes Zoloft with helps them a ton, but for me, does not work at all. It is a lot of trial and error. Talk to your doctor asap. Be aware that Celexa is also a version of lexapro so try to stay away from that. I've had success on cymbalta before so maybe you can ask about that. Good luck and be careful

This may or may not related to the Lexapro, and you should never stop or start a medication uses you discuss it with your doctor first. Make an appointment and talk to your doctor. There may be a medication more suitable for you than Lexapro.
