Do you think the Klitschkos would have been appreciated more if they were American?

I think these two are highly unappreciated by the biased American media and fanbase. Dont even start with the issue of lack of competitive opponents. Tyson was fighting a lot of tomatos but was still earning huge PPV money. I dont get it? Is it because they are white, cultured, and educated?

I mean, anybody who knows boxing can see that these two got skills. Why blame them for the lack of excitement in the Division? They take on anyone who is willing to jump in the ring with them.

Now that Vitali has retired, and Wlad has the chance to be Undisputed Champion, I bet Wlad will still not be given the credit he deserves

Yes. America likes winners, but being from the former USSR hurt their appeal in America. Many Americans made them evil villain in their mind, real life Ivan Dragos. They couldn't like the enemy in blind patriotism. Most people who dislike them can't give a legit reason. They win. They are skilled. Educated. Always in shape. Taking on all comers.

I don't find find them boring. Many do. So looking at their era to compare... Manny Pacquiao's was highly popular in America, but he too is foreign. All had American trainers. S o what are the differences...

    A) KO's...fans love KOs. ..

    B) size... Pacquiao's was the little guy beating bigger guys, the Klitschkos were usually the Goliaths...bullying smaller heavyweights

    C) competition...the Klitschkos fought in a weak era (no fault of their own) and they didn't have Hall Of Gamers to beat ...Pacquiao's had Cotto, Berrera, Mosley, De La Hoya...etc

    D) the Klitschkos also didn't have a Bob Arum to make them loveable... they needed Don King

I doubt it. Americans in general tend to gravitate toward an action fighter. For a fighter who is more of a technician to attract a significant amount of fans, he has to have some kind of persona.

Yeah probably. I noticed alot of morons from America think anyone who isn't of North America is garbage. Im american myself before people start crying.

Personally I would have loved to see them defend their crowns in the US more. All seemed to be in Germany.

No, someone like Gennady Golovkin is highly thought of in America and he is Eastern European.

    It's their style.

Or if they were just black like Lennox Lewis. I think their skin color bothers way more people than their nationality

Does it matter that they are not appreciated by American fans? Why or Why not? Is the American perspective that important? If so, why? If not, then why worry about it?

Why did they never fight Toney, or Holyfield?
