Considering what usually passes for religious reasoning should logical fallacies be taught in school?

All kinds of reasoning should be taught in school: named, defined, exampled, and practiced by students, ESPECIALLY in high school. Many people don't know how to spot or identify a fallacy, so they are easy prey to sexual predators, con artists, thieves, and politicians as well as religious frauds. The best way to guard against this is to TEACH PEOPLE TO THINK AND ARGUE. Notice I said 'argue', not 'fight'. A good logical foundation and the ability to state point/counterpoint is a powerful weapon in the war against BS.

It is taught in homeschooling: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_KAdp7BJtw
Notice (at 14:40) how the home schoolers in that video think that while it is not ideal for them to use logical fallacies to win their point, they are quite prepared to do so if necessary.
Admittedly they do not teach it very well. Many of the examples they give of straw man arguments are not really so at all.

I'm sure the super-wingnuts would like that, as it would propagate their fantasy; though they don't see their logic as fallacious.
The thought process seems to be something like this: "I think God exists. I wouldn't think something that was wrong, so therefore he must."
This kind of faulty thinking has no place in schools.
Unless you mean, should children be taught to think critically? In which case, yes. Perhaps I misunderstood.

No. If more children were taught to think for themselves instead of crazy religious nonsense the world would be a better place to be.

It shouldn't, though most lawsuits pertaining to religion in public schools (i.e. institutions of learning) happen more often than not in the south.
