Many people with low blood sugar have reactive hypoglycemia- their bodies react to eating foods with fast acting carbohydrates by releasing too much insulin.

White bread is largely fast acting carbohydrates. Whole wheat bread is generally slower acting, but for some people is still too fast.

If you tell me you stopped eating bread, but still drink soda, I would find it surprising that the low blood sugar stopped. But if bread was your biggest problem food, then that's expected.
