Problem connecting laptop to Samsung TV?

    Hey all

So I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop, and I have today purchased a HDMI cable to connect it to my Samsung TV (LE19R86BD). I have connected it, only to find an error message on the TV saying "Mode not supported".

I have tried lowering the resolution on the laptop, even down to the lowest setting (800 x 600), although still the error message shows on the TV. I have restarted with the laptop connect and still no joy, although when the laptop is booting up it shows it on the TV. It is when the laptop has booted up to the log-on screen that the TV goes back to the "Mode Not Supported" message.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

I would see if there is a driver on the samsung website for the television. If changing the resolution has no effect, then reduce the refresh rate

How annoying. Wouldn't it be worth contacting Samsung Customer or Technical Support. I personally still think its something to do with video resolution, however >> http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/category/tvav/te...

Also try having another go changing the hdmi cable. Some are made up differently to others. If there are more than one hdmi input, try another one.
