If order came out of chaos, wouldn't my house clean itself?

If order didn't come out of chaos, wouldn't trees grow downward? The personal cleaning of your house that you would do would be the order that came from that chaos. Either that, or your brain would come to see that chaos as order. You can cognitively make order out of any perceived chaos.

No. You cleaning your house is how your house becomes clean. In the process, the small decrease in entropy from rearranging things neatly is surpassed by a big entropy increase from the heat released by you and other objects during cleaning. So net entropy of the system increases.

Even while you're living and trying to go against entropy, you still can't overall. The problem is that most people are not knowledgeable in thermodynamics to realize what "disorder" actually means physically.

If order can't come from chaos, growth would be impossible. A fertilized egg could never grow into an adult. A salt crystal could never form. Water would run up and sideways instead of just downhill.

Not the correct form of Chaos. The "order came out of chaos" deal defines Chaos as the formless or void state preceding the creation of the universe or cosmos

Your question is applicable, but misdirected.

Scientists have said that the theory of how the universe came into existence is like saying that a tornado could go over a pile of rubble and create a Boeing 747

Firmly attach everything to the walls , and have a removable floor ( sort of like pulling out a drawer ) . And replace the carpet . And have a system where a hot water and soap sprayer ( sort of like the fruit and vegetable sprayers at the super-market ) can easily be turned on to wash off your tables , stove , sinks , bath-tub , and toilets into drains .

No, but that proves nothing. Order comes out of chaos all the time. Mineral crystals are one good example. Snowflake patterns are another.

It would, if you give it a chance. Neglect it for a few centuries, let it collapse naturally and decompose. Over time, animals and a lush growth of vegetation will clean that ugly house right up for you.

Fun question, and it actually has a really profound side via the answer:

A temporary decrease in local entropy allows us to live physically....temporarily....

e.g.---the house won't clean itself because it is not alive.

heh heh....mine has the same problem.

no, stop being lazy and realize that cleaning your house will keep you and it's inhabitants, calm and healthy. You are not an animal, don't live like one.
