Why encourage hotheads?
Hotheads rant and insult because they get a bang out of the angry and insulting responses - anything is better than loneliness and pain, I suppose.
The way to end this is to not respond to any ranting or insulting questions. No responses of any kind. Zero.
It works. Let's do it.

Yep, I know you want to insult them back, or post a clever answer that humiliates them. You may even want to help them - but they won't seek help unless we stop entertaining them with our responses.
It's obvious to whom I'm referring.

Yep, ignore ignore and ignore them. That's the best way to fight with trolls, or the hotheads in other words.
Trolls are attention seekers, so if everyone stopped giving them attention and stop encouraging them, they will stop trolling and go away.

I got here late but wanted to hme in beause I completely agree with you. BUT she has a devoted fan club of meat eaters - always the same people. It won't stop beause these same people follow her around and reply to her. She got 8-10 answers on her 3 or 4 questions today. So who is worse? The troll or the people that keep feeding her daily and then complain about her? That's trolling as well. Some adults here need to seriously grow up.

Well, you have to clear in your definition of the kind of questions you constitute as being ranting or insulting.
You state: "they get a bang out of the angry and insulting responses - anything is better than loneliness and pain,..."
The reverse is also equally applicable, people who accommodate and condone cruelty in more ways than one to avoid loneliness and pain. Why is one more deserving of solicitations but not the other?
When it comes to Animal Rights, emotional transparency is actively and strongly discouraged -- whether it is with pain, or loneliness, or anger, or fear, or sadness, or depression. ALL emotions have to find an outlet in some manner... either that, or you rationalize them away.
This problem is not as simple as isolating individual hotheads, the deeper challenge is to encourage open and uncensored dialog on the daily violence we commit and then downplay.
Have the courage to raise the question which need to be raised, instead of worrying about ABC or XYZ asking questions which tend to rile your personal sense of how someone ought to or ought not to behave.

Um...didn't you just reply to the person you are encouraging people to stop speaking to? Also, didn't we get a "question" like this the other day? Something about cleaning up the forum? And doesn't that same person who said that taunt this person daily - on every post calling them Danny Boy? Yeah...thought so.
