In Christianity, was there no reflection and refraction of light before the flood?

Update:

Genesis 9:12 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: 13 I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh. And the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy...

Firstly there was no flood. There is no evidence anywhere for a global flood and plenty of evidence against it.

Some fundamentalists believe there was no rain before the flood but of course there was. As long as there were oceans, a sun and an atmosphere there was cloud and rain. And if there was rain, there were rainbows. Rejecting science because it disagrees with an interpretation of a holy book is a silly thing to do.

Gen 2:5 there was no rain before the Flood that is why they made fun of Noah. There is evidence of the flood including what they think is the ark in the exact place the bible said it was. Gen 8:4. The rainbow first appeared after the flood as Gods promise that he would never again destroy earth with a flood. Gen 9:13. People should really read the scriptures before they try to prove them wrong.

The circumcision of the foreskin was the sign of the covenant between God and Abraham. Men had foreskins before Abraham. There is no reason to assume no rainbows existed before this. God merely articulated that the rainbow would be the sign of his covenant not to destroy the world by flood a third time.

    What I know is this

    Velocity 1/Velocity2= Cosine theta 1/Cosine Theta 2

This is known as the law of refraction!

If the velocity of light is a constant for a given medium as stated by science- then the law of refraction would not work. But refraction takes place.

So science is wrong some place or a rainbow is proof of Gods existence.

Because you believe in science, that dictates you accepting that God is real because there is a rainbow!

So take your pick- is science wrong and/or is there a God!

The Flood happened about 3,000 years before Christ and there was a firmament in place. If you study you will see that a global freeze came within the next hundred of years and the plate movement as well as volcano activity helped to warm it up, then it would get cold again.

  • if you go to texas,Arizona, new Mexico,Utah,Nevada,Colorado and etc you will find salt water, without digging, how did it get there.I have a picture of Gods promise a bow

Ahhh...like many people, you derive a meaning from that passage that the passage itself **does not indicate**. More info:

Either that or God simply had not ascribed that meaning to the rainbow before.
