Yes indeed we do !!! We consider ourselves Christ's fellow workers each time we preach about the Kingdom ruled by Christ and obey his command to make disciples in all the inhabited earth.

Jesus is overseeing our preaching work and it is expanding and progressing tremendously.

Are we proud that Jesus chose us for such an important assignment? Yes, indeed we are.

Do we consider ourselves loyal subjects of a higher form of Government? Yes.

Is our allegiance to that Government alone? Yes.

Is our King righteous, powerful and perfect in love and justice? Yes.

Each time we study the Bible with interested ones and help them to become loyal subjects of Gods Kingdom, we are following Christ.

For publicity purposes, to get other christians to see them in a positive light, JWs formally claim to be followers of christ. But their everyday speech and action does not give one the sense that they are followers of Jesus, that he has a special place in their hearts second to Jehovah. One gets the sense that they are followers of an organization. They behave and act like "Jehovites" and "Organizationites", not Christians.

Just read the entire NT in any accurate translation and you soon get a feel for the extent to which 1st century christians loved and honored Jesus. Next compare this with JWs everyday speech and attitude when they're not trying hard to convince others that they're christians. It becomes very evident that JWs attitude toward Jesus is nothing like that portrayed in the NT!

JWs tell themselves they are christian and they believe it. The problem is that their organization has morphed the definition of what it means to be christian. JWs have a cold, somewhat begrudging relationship with Jesus. They go out of their way to avoid honoring him to the extent that 1st century christians did. They seem to have an attitude of begrudgingly giving Jesus the very least amount of honor necessary to justify to themselves their claim of being christian.

    I love the cartoons :)

I also smile at the way others answer for us when they have no idea of our beliefs.

If you look in any of our mags you will see that we are promoting Jesus as our redeemer and exemplar and that is what he is. He is the head of the congregation.

    Worship That God Approves

Jesus’ true followers preach that God's kingdom is mankind’s only hope. ... Jesus foretold: “This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come"

Yes, we do. We, unlike Caribbean Man, follow Jesus' commands, as follows:

    i) Matthew 28:19,20: "Go, therefore, and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you . ."

That is what JWs seek to do, preaching and then teaching those who respond favorably to imitate Jesus' words, to become baptized, and then to preach, teach and make disciples of others.

ii) Matthew 24:14: "And this good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come."

JWs take seriously this prophecy that Jesus uttered, and are renowned for their global activity in preaching about the good news of God's kingdom, that, hopefully, you may have learned something about yourself at : /question/index?qid=20140...

iii) Acts 5:42 [KJV, DLNT, DRA, ESV, GNV, GW, ISV, JUB, LEB, NOG, NASB, NET, NIV, NKJV, NLT, YLT]:"And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ." [or: "And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ."]

A very large part of JWs' public preaching activity is represented by their door to door work, for which they are recognized globally. Again, they take seriously Jesus' words at Matthew 10:27.

They, too, recognize the validity of what Jesus organized when, at Luke 10:1,2 he sent those 70 disciples in advance of him by twos, so you will frequently encounter JWs following that sound advice.

iv) John 13:34,35: "I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are my disciples—if you have love among yourselves."

JWs enjoy a unique global brotherhood. When I moved countries, I knew upon my arrival here in Oz that I would have an "instant JW family," and that is how it proved to be. Contrast that to the experience I related at:

    /question/index?qid=20140...

    v) Luke 10:27: "you must . . . love your neighbor as yourself.

In the illustration that Jesus gave of the neighborly Samaritan, it became evident that Jesus' view of "our neighbor" is anyone, anywhere that we come into contact with.

If you look at the history of the first century Christians, JWs follow their Christ given example, refusing to be involved in wars against their neighbors just because they happen to be in other countries.

For such a stand, in 1935 Adolf Hitler resolved to "exterminate this brood," and had almost 1,000 young JW men slaughtered for their refusal to recant their beliefs and take up arms to fight for the Third Reich.

Contrast that to the adherents of mainstream religions earthwide during WWII, the vast majority of whom willingly took up arms to fight for flag and country.

vi) John 17:14: "I have given your word to them, but the world has hated them, because they are no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world."

Jesus refused to have any part in the political affairs of this world [see John 18:36] and JWs follow his lead, refusing allegiance to any political entity, but rather, aligning their allegiance with God's kingdom. They see themselves as citizens of the earth under God's kingdom, not man's.

Nevertheless, they recognize the validity of Romans 13:1-7, "being in subjection to the superior authorities [governments and their agencies], dutifully paying their taxes, and obeying the laws of the land, so long as those laws do not contravene God's laws. [see Acts 5:29]

    Thanks for your question.

We ARE footstep followers of Christ! We try to imitate His faithfulness and his teachings.

And that is, until we die, or enter the paradise God has promised us! Death and Paradise? See below:

Ecclesiastes 9:5, "For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing at all, nor do they have any more reward, because all memory of them is forgotten. 6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they no longer have any share in what is done under the sun. Psalm 146:4 “when a man dies, “his thoughts do perish.”

Nominal “Christian” pastors use this to scare people into going to church and donating money to keep out of hellfire.” God would never roast and toast anyone!!!!

Hellfire? The word for that came from the word Gehenna, the common word for the Valley of Hinnom. That place east of Jerusalem was the city garbage dump. The city used burning sulfur to keep down disease. When Jesus used the word as the place of no return everyone understood what he meant, when he spoke of it.

Hell: SHEOL AND HADES --What do they really mean? Let’s ask an authority--Webster's Dictionary says that the English word "hell" is equal to the Hebrew word Sheol and the Greek word Hades. Hell is the common grave of mankind--according to Jesus Christ. John 11:11 Jesus said Lazarus was “sleeping” and he was going there to awaken him--and upwards of 500 people saw him.

The Hebrew word Sheol, which referred to the “abode of the dead,” is translated “hell” in some versions of the Bible. What does this passage reveal about the condition of the dead? Do they suffer in Sheol in order to atone for their errors? No, for they “know nothing.” That is why the patriarch Job, when suffering terribly because of a severe illness, begged God: “Protect me in hell [Hebrew, Sheol].” (Job 14:13; Douay-Rheims Version) What meaning would his request have had if Sheol was a place of eternal torment?

Sheol (pronounced "Sheh-ole") , in Hebrew the "underworld", or "pit". ..

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheol  , the realm of dead, the common grave of mankind, Hell. In older English translations of the Bible, notably the Authorized or King James Bible ...

    en.wiktionary.org/wiki/sheol

Jesus was perfect. Let me ask you, was Jesus deserving of eternal burning in “The teaching of the most churches affirms the existence of hell and its eternity. hades/sheol/hell since they are all one in the same...one is greek/hebrew/english?

Immediately after death the souls of those who die in a state of mortal sin descend into hell, where they suffer the punishments of hell, ‘eternal fire.’ The chief punishment of hell is eternal separation from God.”—Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1994 edition, page 270.

What does the Bible say? “For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing, for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going.”—Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10, Revised Standard Version.

This is what is in store for those of mankind who obey Jehovah God--a restored paradise as it was in the beginning:

"In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth..."

He created a perfect human couple, and Satan deceived them into believing they could be "like" Jehovah God. They sinned and God had warned them that if they did, "...they would surely die..." So all mankind had sin and death passed on to them.

But Jehovah's purpose could not be thwarted--and He purposed " a new heaven and a NEW EARTH in which righteousness is to dwell."

"David [whom the Bible refers to as being `a man agreeable to Jehovah's heart'] did not ascend to the heavens." No, but will be resurrected back to a paradise earth.

Scriptures that state a new earth will be created and all God’s followers will live there

    Psalm 37:11

But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

    Isaiah 65:17

or, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

    Matthew 5:5

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
