I A/C compressor leak questions?

I had to replace my A/C compressor on my 96 Plymouth Voyager Minivan. I bought a used unit from the junkyard. How much compressor oil should I add? Also, it keeps failing my leakdown vacuum test, should I install my new dryer before or after I add my U/V leak detector dye and bottle of compressed leak stop?

A can or two of oil should be added (compressed can) of PAG100 and The U/V dye AFTER replacing the filter/dryer.

With the leaking issue be sure to replace or check all the O-rings (kits are pretty cheap) probably one is leaking.

If with new O-rings and a new dryer and it still leaks then I would look into hoses or replacing the schrader valves in the service ports (they look like tire stem cores and kits are pretty cheap and come with a tool).

Tracking A/C leaks can be hard.

add as much oil as came out of the old one plus 2 oz of pag 100 oil.then connect all the lines and run a 1 hour vacuum. if it won't hold replace everything.it should hold -28psi for at least 10 minites
