What is your personal list of albums a true rock fan must have?

And it's kind of like if they don't have one of those albums (or maybe don't like that album), you think to yourself "sheesh this person is really missing out on great rock..."

You can list as many as you want. Whether it's one or fifty, doesn't matter.

If you really want to go for it, take a step back and add the "founders".

Rather than clog things up, just some names:

    - guitarists -

    Chuck Berry

    Link Wray

    Dick Dale

    Duane Eddy

    Lonnie Mack

    The Ventures

    - vocalists -

    Little Richard

    Buddy Holly

    Ritchie Vallens

    Jerry Lee Lewis

    Elvis

    - 60's, where most "start", rather than continue -

    The Animals

    Jeff Beck

    ZZ Top

    Janis Joplin

    Linda Ronstadt

    etc...........

Source(s): 200 pounds of vinyl on the shelf, some of it "monophonic"

If they don't have at least a few of each of these I feel they are missing out, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Fairpoint Convention, jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, the Cars, Dio, Sabbath and so many more but a good pallet of musical taste is always good. (:

Hard to believe that Van Halen's Fair Warning lp is their lowest selling record to date. It's a staple in my collection

It's a matter of personal taste in music. What I consider essential, you might consider frivolous. My personal list changes all the time.

Oh boy is there so much for you to discover <3

The Velvet Underground and Nico - s/t (1967)

King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King (1969)

Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures (1979)

Sonic Youth - Daydream Nation (1988)

I kept mine succinct, and every last one of them was already mentioned. But seriously listen to all of them.
