Math homework help needed. Please reply.?
I have the following math problem:
A man went to the market to buy some roosters, hens and chickens. He bought 100 birds for 100 coins. How many hens did he buy if one rooster costs 5 coins, one hen costs 3 coins and 3 chickens cost 1 coin?
Also please show how you did it.

I don't think you have enough information to do this one. There are three unknowns, but only two equations. But let's try anyway.
H+r+c=100
5r+3h+(1/3)c=100
Or 15r+9h+c=300
Subtract the two
14r+8h=200
H=(200-14r)/8
What we must do is find whole numbers of r that result in whole numbers for h
H is 18 or 11 or 4

It's impossible to do this because the man did not buy any birds but you mentioned "100 birds for 100 coins" which makes no sense. Also,if 3 chickens cost 1 coin,then it would be 0.33,which is quite rare for a mathematical question to have this. It is possible if you specify the total number of roosters,hens and chickens,price of 1 rooster and chicken and their quantity.
