How do I stop my GSD puppy from climbing gates?

She's just turned 4 months old and while I'm home she's fine, no attempt... But while I'm gone she'll climb the gate. She's really leggy and if she can get her front paws on the top she'll get over. She is currently being crated because of this and she's in full blow teething. I world like to give her more room, but can't keep her behind a gate. (We've trued different gate styles)

Update:

I'm taking inside the home. She's only left for very short times, I am at home with her except for grocery shopping and such. I can't find a baby gate she won't climb!

Taller gate or set up a room where she can have more space.

Drs. Foster and Smith, whose catalog is online, sell an extra tall gate.

A standard size fence and gate won't hold a GSD. You need to have a kennel run with a 6 ft high fence. When you crate her, leave her a teething toy such as a Galileo bone. Also see about taking her to beginner obedience classes. A GSD is very smart and much easier to live with if she's trained in basic obedience. Also get her out on leash, take her to PetSmart, etc. The more a GSD is socialized, the better.

    Get a 'no jump' harness.

Dog won't be able to reach full stride to jump & prevents the jump.

Stop leaving the poor dog outside. Its a DOG. A living being not a lawn ornament. Problem solved
