How deep can this Ray Rice saga go?

Just saw that authorities can prove that they sent the tape to the NFL...and can prove that the NFL received it....back in April. Rice was sentenced in May...Goodell handed down suspension in July. If Roger didn't see video, what evidence did he take into account? Can he fairly decide punishment if he fails to look at everything? Why did it take 2 months after court decision for Goodell to decide? What did Ray and Roger talk about when they met? Hope they didn't review the video that Roger claims to have never seen....because now Goodell is calling Rice a liar in a roundabout way. Wouldnt look good if Rice came public and say they watched the video. Or is there a lot of "hush money" being handed out? Now we have SF CEO Jed York saying "Ray McDonald is not Ray Rice...don't unfailry punish Ray". Well Mr. York, your boy is facing FELONY domestic violence charges...against a pregnant finacee...who had visible injuries. I hope your right Mr. York, because it's not a good time to be sticking up for woman beaters.

ray rice recieved the same treatment anyone else with no criminal record would have. Goodell dropped the ball if he would have suspended rice 8 -10 games it would not have been so bad when the video came out. gving someone a full year for a victimless crime such as weed then a woman beater 2 games is where goodell effed up

It's going to keep going and going until Ray Rice either fades into nothing and disappears forever or... Nope. Nothing else.

Goodell punished Rice because there was the video of him pulling her out of the elevator. That's evidence.

It took so long because it isn't like games were being played at that time. There was no rush to get the suspension done so rice would miss the next game, because that wasn't for months. The suspension was ridiculously weak. Josh Gordon gone for a year for smoking weed, Robert Mathis gone 4 games for trying to have a kid with how wife, and Ray Rice, who actually hurt another human being, is suspended 2 games. Laughable. Even if Goodell didn't see the attack video, suspension should've been longer because of the initial video of Rice dragging her out.

Ray McDonald should be suspended 6 games, as the new rule states. Why implement the rule if you aren't going to use it? Damn NFL.

I'm tired of this story being twisted around. Goodell did not beat up his finance and drag her by the hair out of an elevator RICE DID! Perhaps Goodell was not as swift in his discipline as he should have been, but that is hardly a reason to demand him being terminated after all the good he has done. As others have pointed out, Rice avoided criminal prosecution, which also makes it tougher for an employer to justify taking disciplinary action.

The story reminds of the Penn State debacle, where the University police were well aware of the actions of Sandusky, but tried to put the blame on the coaching staff.

I'm not so much concerned about what the NFL is or is not doing, but more concerned that regardless of what "law enforcement" has to say on the matter, they too dropped the ball. They too saw the video and decided that the best course of action was a pre-trial diversion program.

The whole thing is getting ridiculous. It's now getting to the point that Goodell is being seen as big of a villain as Rice is.

It seems as if the NFL wanted to cover this up. Or at least they didn't want to see the video, so they would not have to deal with it. The NFL is more worried about their image than the rights of Women.

    Bullship.

Your question should be, How did Ray Rice avoid CRIMINAL prosecution from the police and the D.A. in Atlantic City?
