What model smith and Wesson 38. Special is this?

I'm trying to fix this 38. Special. Missing screws, and needs extra parts. I'm not bringing it to a gunsmith because I don't have papers on it. If your going to be a jerk, don't bother answering. I just would like to know the model. The number as been filed off.

    If the serial number has been filed off, it is illegal to possess that firearm. You can spend 10 years in prison for possessing it. End of problem.

    You realize that gun is not legal & likely tied to a crime already? That is why the numbers got filed off.
