Benzoyl peroxide?

Will a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide gel get rid of a spot overnight? Also, which spots does it work best on blackheads, whiteheads or the red painful ones? Thanks

Benzoyl peroxide is a good choice for spot treatment of acne after you have failed other methods of treatment. Before starting treatment, proper skin hygiene should be considered. Washing your face twice daily, changing your pillow case weekly, and avoiding harsh creams, makeup or fragrances is the best first action. Typically, starting with a salicylic acid wash or scrub is the first step. Using such wash or scrub twice daily would help remove the unwanted oils, clean out the pores and dry unwanted zits. If this doesn't help we move on to benzoyl peroxide products. These are also available in washes/scrubs as well as spot treatment creams/gels. Benzoyl peroxide is offered in strengths starting from 2.5% to 10% over the counter. Use of these treatments twice daily, along with maintaining clean skin can help diminish the appearance of zits. Typically, benzoyl peroxide works best on the red spots, however you may try the treatment on whiteheads and blackheads as well. While television ads may advertise treatment to work overnight, this isn't usually the case. It can take 1 to 2 weeks of consistent use to notice improvement. You may see some shrinking/drying of the acne within 1 to 2 days, but results vary for every person. Also, it should be mentioned that benzoyl peroxide can act as a bleaching agent and if it touches clothing, your towel, or pillow cases, may discolor the material. Should the acne still persist with no improvement you may want to seek the advice of a dermatologist. Just consider that most treatments take consistent use for an extended period of time to show improvement.

No, it doesn't get rid of a spot "overnight". The way benzoyl peroxide works is it removes oxygen from inside pores, so the bacteria don't have any oxygen to live on, and they die. This doesn't happen overnight. However, benzoyl peroxide is a very good treatment of acne. I would say it's mostly affective against open acne, like regular pimples, because it gets into the skin easily. I put it on my entire face every night before going to bed, so that I can prevent acne. It doesn't prevent all acne, but it has made my face significantly clearer, even though not completely. It also treats acne, but not overnight. But eventually, like maybe in about a week, your pimple will go away. If you want to hide it, put on non comedogenic concealer. If you're a guy, idk.

One simple step that works to keep acne away.

Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide) face pads help keep acne away by scrubbing open clogged pores, oily residues and exfoliation. Feel a pimple coming? Just wet a pad, place it on the pimple and remove it when dry. Sit back and watch pimple disappear. Works on body acne too.

These pads also help reduce skin hyperpigmentation (acne scars).

Try it and see the difference.

There aren't any products that will remove acne overnight. The best it might do is shrink it down.
