It is a compliment toward you. In other words, your boyfriend is a lucky guy to have a person like you and in many instances they wish they had someone like you in their lives. You should thank them for the compliment next time.

He is complimenting you and in some cases trying to flirt a bit. I got this type of comments before from friends and considered it to be compliments, but I guess it depends from what he says after , if he says anything at all.
