How do I tailor the bust of a dress?

I have a rockabilly, A line strapless dress that fits me in the waist and in the hips, but is too large in the bust. I'll need to take the bust in. I have basic hand stitching skills because I've had to make alterations to costumes before, but I've never taken in the bust. I think I know how to do it but could anyone explain it for me, or point me to some videos that show how? I cannot take it to a tailor as I don't have the funds and need the dress on Saturday.

    First, look at the inside of the bust area. All bust cups are created by taking darts in the fabric so that the rounded pouchy shape is created for the bust.

    You want to look at the base of the darts where the fabric widens and stictch it to be even a slightly wider amt. taken in. The dart should still taper to almost nothing at the point where it is near the center of the chest. Leave it that way so there are no awkward puckers. You can actually try on the dress inside out and pin the darts to fit first. Then take it off and stitch along the pin lines. Good luck!! : }

    btw, use small stitches and close together so it doesn't pucker
