Is Obama to blame for ISIS?

He recently blamed the Intelligence department for not foreseeing the rise of ISIS.

It appears he has been skipping his in person daily Intel report, with a 42% attendance for his entire presidency. Showing up 3 days a week.

A spokesman for the for the national intelligence agency said they predicted ISIS and it was spelled out in the briefings.

Is ISIS Obamas legacy ? Is this what we can remember him for ?

I think Turkey should take a lot of blame for ISIS.

Turkish government doesn't like Assad so they have allowed a lot of ISIS members to cross through Turkey unchallenged in some cases being armed by the Turks.

Turkey knows ISIS murder innocent civilians and commit genocide and ethnic cleansing yet Turkey will not stop ISIS members crossing through Turkey.

As for Bashar Al Assad, the internal affairs and leadership of Syria (a sovereign country) is NO damn business of Turkey!

Turkey has blood on its hands.

They deserve to be thrown out of NATO and have any future EU membership denied.

Yes in part, I believe he made a mistake in supporting the Syrian rebellion against Syrian dictator Assad. I believed it then and said so 3 years ago and still believe it and say it...it was instead in US and world interest for the US to 'support' Assad and make a 'deal' with him to stay in power as a stable force. Since he was in trouble from rebellion he would have made concessions to us and thereby the US could modify his rule.

We did the same thing with the Shah's of Iran 1950-1979 and with Egypt (1950-2013) supporting moderated dictators in power to keep the Mideast region stable. Dictatorship and kings and family clans, and tribes is the Mideast way.

By supporting the 'Arab Spring rebellion' in Syria 2011-2014 Obama unintentionally helped create and unleash Mideast chaos and Jihadi Sunni ISIS and Obama is now trying to correct and destroy ISIS.

He is called President/Chief for a reason! Whoever is responsible for ISIS should have known you don't give arms to one terrorist group to stop another! If they did something that stupid in Detroit right now, the metropolitan area would have to call in the military and declare marshall law! Stupid reasoning if you have problems with one predator you don't add a worse one to deal with it. Otherwise, you now have to deal with the predator you introduced! Our government is being irresponsible and as a result decisions are being made by stupid people! Advisers to the President should be fired! They created Frankenstein's Monster now the villagers ( our military ) has to kill it? It's really disappointing that our country is globally looking like retards! And the cherry on the sundae is our President. This November I'm voting Libertarian! I'm getting off the Liberal/Conservative roller coaster! Its time we got our country in order and I know these two parties don't have the answer!

Id say its a mixture of things but in all cases it really starts at the "end of the 2nd Iraq war" says Obama. the chiftens in Iraq and afganistan warned the us that by leaving so soon would cause a rebellion to rise to power of the old sadam regime . with this we add on the Syrian rebels which we gladly helped arm the forces not knowing how this would truly work. then you mix in the religion and some money and you have the new war rising. the whole ordeal is quite disturbing but the media has it all out of perportions . the paranoia news has it all twisted and rawling up a scared people . soon its gonna go all bat **** crazy.

CIC Barrack O'blamer seems to have been out-of-step with the military from the beginning.

Didn't he get through 2 or 3 commanders in Iraq ?

One is is hardly surprised he now pleads intelligence services let him down - failing to track the rise of ISIS - forcing him into air-strikes he would have preferred to avoid.

Perhaps he's also surprised that his comment to Putin - about being 'FLEXIBLE' if re-elected -was an encouragement for 'Action man' to snatch Crimea from Ukraine.

The YES WE CAN man is increasingly DISappointing - more popular with foes than with friends.

Whether we like it or not, whether by default or design, we are the world's leading nation.

Obama wanted to be a "domestic" president, that is revamping our nation to suit his views. He did not want to be an "international" president, getting involved in wars and international affairs.

Unfortunately, the fates did not agree with him, and he is stuck in situations which he never intended or wanted.

Too fuqqin bad, eh? He's the President, and needs to handle ALL situations which arise, not just those which will assure him a legacy.

I wouldn't say he was the cause of ISIS, but his neglect undoubtedly led to its growth, and therefore, its danger to us and the Western World.

Bush and Obama are to blame. Bush destroyed Iraq, killed a million people and caused instability in the Middle East, but left american troops there. Obama removed the troops and gave arms to the rebels in Syria and the army in Iraq. The rebels formed IS an the Iraqi army ran away and left more weapons for IS. Arming rebels and defective armies is a bad idea.

US foreign policy in general is to blame for the mess. Saddam should have been left to govern Iraq, and the US should have stayed home, but it is too late now.

I think there are many many years of screw ups for wrong motives that have lead up to atrocities in our world... but certainly i understand he knew about them long before now and did nothing... after all they are Islamic as obama is so why would he want to go against them??? he has said he would side with the muslims... America get a clue, obama is for ISIS and not America.

Just now reported that Obama was in touch with the Iranian government before he took office and promised them things contrary to America's interests and yes could have ushered in the appearance of Isis and other named terror orgs.
