HELP! What are some types of showers you can throw for the Bride to be?

I know there are bridal showers, pantry showers, and lingerie showers, but we want something different. Whats some kind of shower that you or a friend had that you thought was different that you really liked. It's a shower for a young lady that works in our office, of course it needs to be clean.

A recipe shower is the best for an office.

Everyone brings their favorite recipe on a card - whether it's their own, a family heirloom recipe, or just something they love.

Get a nice recipe box - metal or plastic is much better than cardboard, which gets grubby - and a package of nifty recipe cards. Or a scrapbook, and post a picture of each person on a page and anything else they want to add-

Each person can wrap their recipe in a box or a card, so she has something to unwrap and a ceremony by which the gift is given- get some party blowouts or noisemakers to use after very one is opened- you can have a very silly party with minimal expenditure.

It's one thing to wish a co-worker well, but entirely inappropriate to have a shower where co-workers are pressured into giving they must pay for. Recipes are free, but can also be the gift that keeps on giving- for years to come.

PS - tell the geeky guys who don't cook to ask their mothers, their wives, or bring a coupon for their favorite brand of chips and salsa...

I like the recipe card idea. People could be given the cards ahead of time so they're all the same. If you don't know her kitchen theme, go with copper. Everyone loves copper.

If you don't think this is the most exciting thing you've ever heard, maybe it isn't, but workplace showers can be a minefield, for several reasons. If someone is close to her and wants to get her a separate wedding gift, they're perfectly free to do so. Meanwhile, she gets a very nice and meaningful gift.

Are you talking about something like

A round the clock showers: everyone is given a time, a gift is related to what the person thing the couple would used at the time.

A to Z showers: everyone get an letter and the gift needs to start with the letter(it could be the brand or item)

House showers: Everyone get a room to get a gift for. It would be what the guest think the couple could used for the room

Time of the day shower ( assign each guest a time of the day and they are supposed to come up with a gift for that time of the day, example, 7pm wine glasses, 8 am cereal bowls etc. each guest comes up with the gift, you assign the time of tne day)

    A to Z shower.

Assign each guest with a letter and they are supposed to come up with a gift that starts with that letter ( example, c for cookie sheets, h, hot pads) etc.

    Good luck

Kitchen showers are almost always welcome, I think, if she cooks at all. Each person could bring a recipe that uses the gift she brought
