Why do people try to disprove our existence?

I've seen several theories of people trying to say we don't exist, or that we're just simulated. It kinda baffles me to see people try their hardest to be the right person and say "I told you so". I understand the theories and all, but I just don't understand why people want to be right about it, and try to disprove our existence.

It's a thought experiment and frankly, true. Yes, I can touch the walls and I'm physically here but where is hear, what is this and now? The math in quantum mechanics suggests that the physical reality of that wall isn't as certain as you might think. When you get past your own experience there's a lot to think about. And meat on a floating dirt ball is only one small thing.

Several thousand? Really? if you don;t believe it then why are you listening to it? I've never heard anyone say that because I never listen to people who start talking garbage like that.

Who? I think they are trying to make epistemological points about how we either conceive ourselves and the world and their relation or how we really can "know" things.
