A question about Sheik's confirmed gender?

Are people arguing and hating the fact that Nintendo confirmed Sheik to be a female and didn't go by what the manga says?

    The manga is not considered canon; it was not established by Nintendo, whereas Nintendo's confirmation of Sheik's gender made it official canon.

    Not everyone knows about the manga and some people still believe that Sheik is Zelda after she transforms to become a man using magic

    Sheik is zelda from an alternate world, so therefore sheik is a woman

    Sheik and Zelda are seen riding together in "Ocarina of time" when they are escaping from Hyrule therefor sheik and zelda can't be the same person.
