Instagram app resets itself when I try to upload video?
I'm using Instagram for Android, but I'm having trouble posting a short video. When I go to upload it the preview works just fine, and I get through the "add a filter" screen with no problems. But when it gets to the screen where I'm supposed to add a caption etc, the app crashes and resets back to my home feed.
Google hasn't helped since I can't find anyone who's had this exact same problem. They all either mention an error message, the uploader freezing, or the app just straight crashing and closing, but mine is just resetting itself and only with a video file
As far as I can tell the video should be compatible; it's an mp4, 0:27 secs, 1:1 480x480. I don't know if there's a problem with the file size? But if it was that then I would imagine it would tell me or at least wait until I got to the actual uploader, but I can't get past the caption screen.
1 AnswerSoftware3 years agoTrouble uploading site from Dreamweaver to remote server?
I'm currently taking a web design class, and for one of our final assignments we had to code a site and use Adobe Dreamweaver CC to upload the site to a remote server we were provided.
Thing is, about a week ago we tested the server by uploading a test page to it.
So fast forward, a week later I upload my project site to the server successfully, or so I think, but when I go to the URL it just shows me the test page we made a week ago.
My professor is not being very helpful, just telling me "it has to do with your file structure."
How can I fix this? In a nutshell, I need to upload a site to a remote server, even though I previously uploaded a test page to that same site.
2 AnswersProgramming & Design4 years agoWhy is there no video footage online of Black Sabbath's 1978 TV performance on Look, Hear? (see details before replying)?
For fans or people who are familiar with what I am talking about only please, I don't want any conjecture from people who aren't familiar with this specific thing.
It's well known by Sabbath fans that in 1978 the band did a one-off performance on the TV program "Look, Hear" with Dave Walker on vocals. It was their only performance with Walker. However, there seems to be no footage of it on the internet anywhere! There is audio of it, but no video.
This seems odd to me; we have access to things like footage of Jimi Hendrix playing in his high school auditorium but no footage of this major televised performance?
It has been confirmed that the footage DOES still exist, as it was screened a few years ago at an event in London that featured several other rare performances, so it isn't lost, and obviously there were people who captured it from the fact that the audio exists online.
Does anyone know if video of this performance exists anywhere online, and if not, why it doesn't?
3 AnswersRock and Pop4 years agoWhy is my prepaid virtual Visa not working on eBay?
I got a prepaid virtual Visa card specifically for the purpose of making online purchases.
The instructions say to simply enter the card info like you would a debit card. I've successfully used it before on other sites, and from what I understand you are supposed to be able to use them on eBay as well, but when I've entered the payment info and click "confirm and buy," I am told "we are unable to process this payment" and told to check the card details or use a different payment method.
It doesn't work when I link the card to PayPal and try to use it through there either.
I have more than enough money on the card to make the purchase, and I made absolutely sure all the info is correct.
If eBay and PayPal both claim to support prepaid Visas, why am I not able to use mine? Is there a fix?
1 AnswerOther - Internet4 years agoWhy do some songs in Sonic Adventure 2 feature the same lyrics as different songs from Sonic Adventure?
I'd wondered this a lot as a kid but didn't think to look into it until years later.
The Sonic Adventure games are known for their soundtracks, but it always bugged me that some of the songs that were used as the characters' themes, like "It Doesn't Matter" (Sonic) and "Believe In Myself"(Tails), while being completely different musical compositions, have the exact same lyrics as songs of the same name from Sonic Adventure.
These were seasoned rock musicians writing these songs, so i always wanted to know why, for these few songs, did they go to the trouble of writing entirely original instrumental songs and then using the same lyrics from completely different songs?
1 AnswerVideo & Online Games4 years agoWhy hasn't Greyhound (like Ticketmaster) been hit with a class action suit for its "gift fees?"?
Today I experienced firsthand the frustration that comes with discovering Greyhound's infamous gift fee when I tried to buy a round trip between Houston and Austin for my girlfriend only to have the price triple at checkout...
For those who don't know, Greyhound charges an $18 "gift fee" on any ticket purchase where the cardholder isn't traveling. The company's representatives offer vague, sometimes contradictory explanations for why this fee exists, with the most common being that it is a fraud prevention measure, but all of the known excuses have been shown to not hold up to scrutiny (there are some great articles on the subject if you want more info).
This got me thinking about a recent class action lawsuit against Ticketmaster, where they were sued and it was determined that some of the "service fees" they charged people weren't legitimate and they were simply pocketing the extra money.
This made me wonder, if such a suit could be successfully brought down on a company like Ticketmaster, why has such action not been taken against Greyhound? This is not a new issue after all, and there are numerous petitions and articles on the subject dating back several years.

1 AnswerCredit5 years agoSending an Uber for someone else; app keeps switching to MY location (see details)?
I'm currently on vacation in Nevada, but my girlfriend is back home in Houston. I was trying to send her an Uber, so I entered her location and scheduled the ride, but I couldn't check up on the status of the ride, because the app kept defaulting back to my location in Vegas. So I dropped a pin at her location and her driver's info popped up, but then in just a couple of seconds it automatically forced me back to my location again.
I tried this several more times, and every time I checked up on her location the app forced me back to the Vegas location, not even giving me enough time to do anything
Eventually I acted fast enough to go to "call driver" before it swutched again so I was able to speak to him and confirm the details, but why couldn't I just do it the normal way through the app? Why did it keep forcing me back to my own map location?
1 AnswerSoftware5 years agoMovie requires payment to watch on YouTube but not showing option to purchase?
I'm trying to buy Batman: The Killing Joke to stream on YouTube; previously, when I had looked it up from my account, the price was displayed and I had the option to purchase it (I simply wasn't ready to buy it yet at the time).
Today I went back to buy it (from the same account as before) and while it still says it requires payment to watch, the option to actually purchase it is no longer there.
I am using the standard YouTube app for Android, as I was before, and it is up to date.
Why is the option to purchase not showing up now?
3 AnswersYouTube5 years agoWhy does Google show Matthew Garber as an old man? (See details)?
I was looking into "Where are they now?" type bios for the cast of Mary Poppins (1964) and for some reason Matthew Garber, the actor who played Michael amd died at age 21, is always accompanied by a photo of a much older gentleman.
If you Google the cast of Mary Poppins, this picture is shown next to Garber's name on the cast list, and if you Google the actor the same picture is shown in the bio.
But Garber was 21 when he died in 1977; so why does Google keep pairing his bio with a recent-looking photo of a 50-something year old man? Is there another notable actor also named Matthew Garber? I can't find anything about him if so.
3 AnswersMovies5 years agoI missed Jury Duty in Harris County; am out of reschedules, but...(details)?
I've gotten myself in a bit of a bind. Not long ago I missed a jury duty date (along with my two subsequent reschedules) due to my overnight work schedule not allowing me to arrive on time. I let my bosses know in advance each time but the people they lined up to relieve me in the morning never showed up on time.
Anyway, worried, I went to the internet naturally to figure out what the repercussions might be. The consensus seemed to be that in Harris County, the rate of no-shows is so high that hardly anybody is ever penalized.
However, just this evening, I received another summons in the mail...for tomorrow morning. Due to a change of address the letter must have gone through a long forwarding process and reached me late. And this time I am not allowed any reschedules.
The problem is...I'm at work right now as we speak. I'm here alone until morning.
I know several people have said that they never got into any trouble after missing Harris County jury duty, but I've never heard anybody mentioning getting ANOTHER summons for failure to show up. What will happen if I do not make it in time this time?
3 AnswersCivic Participation5 years agoDo all timeshare presentations have an age limit of 25?
I live in Houston and I recently was selected as a guaranteed winner by one of those promotional timeshare presentations, meaning that if I attended I was guaranteed to win SOMETHING whether I bought or not. However, they then revealed that I needed to be over the age of 25 and preferably married... I am 21, but I know people who have attended these seminars as young as 18 and won prizes.
From what I understand most companies these days require an age of 25+, but I wondered if there were any that anyone knew of that don't?
8 AnswersHouston5 years agoWhy do many metalheads use the term "mainstream" to describe bands that have ANY degree of success?
I love heavy metal, and several of my favorite bands are quite popular and influential, like Dio and Iron Maiden.
But when it comes to acts like these, I more often than not will hear the very vocal metal community throwing around the word "mainstream" to describe them.
These are not bands you can tune in to mainstream radio and hear playing alongside the latest pop sensations of the day.
What's more, recently I've noticed that this word is even being applied to bands that are inherently the OPPOSITE of mainstream. Why, on this very site I saw somebody asking for examples of death metal bands that were "not mainstream," as though a legitimately mainstream death metal band has ever existed.
Mainstream, by definition, does not refer to just ANYTHING that is popular; mainstream artists are going to be the ones you hear about in the tabloids and on pop radio. Not every single band with fans in more than one state.
3 AnswersRock and Pop6 years agoAnti-smoking cartoon starring the Tin Man and Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz?
Over a decade and a half ago when I was in elementary school, our gym coach had us watch a musical cartoon about the dangers of smoking that starred the Tin Man and the Scarecrow.
I don't remember what it was called, I just remember there was a scene where the two of them are adventuring and take a shortcut through the "Land of Nicotine."
I can't find anything about it on Google and I was curious so I wanna know if anyone else has seen it or has a link to anything about it? Thanks!
3 AnswersMovies6 years agoOn my Android (Moto G) I only typed a word once and now it's the default prediction for some reason; why?
I use the standard keyboard on my Moto G Android phone. The other day I used the Facebook app to block an individual; this was literally the one and only time I have ever typed that person's name on this phone, but for some reason, that name is suddenly the default word prediction anytime I start a new sentence of text. It isn't even part of my phone's dictionary
There are countless other words I have typed many many more times but for some reason this one name that I typed in once is now THE word that shows up when I start new text. Why? And how to I change it? It doesn't make any sense to me
2 AnswersCell Phones & Plans6 years agoWhy can't I eFile my tax return if my mom listed me as a dependent?
I electronically filed my tax return through Turbo Tax yesterday, and I got an email shortly after saying that my return was rejected because I was already claimed as a dependent by my mom.
However, last year my mother and I both e-filed successfully and I was still listed as a dependent then. Why did it work last year but I can't do it this year? Is this a brand new IRS policy or am I doing something wrong?
6 AnswersUnited States6 years agoHow can my fiancé confirm if her mother is illegally witholding her inheritance from her deceased father?
My fiance lost her father when she was very young. It was revealed later on down the line that he left her a healthy sum of money in his will.
As my fiance was a child at the time, her manipulative mother was put in charge of the money for the time being.
My fiance is in her 20s now, and has yet to see a single cent of her inheritance. Only recently did she come to the realization that her mother, in addition to refusing to give her adult daughter her money, has even SPENT from it on at least one occasion, using her daughter's inheritance to purchase her brother a car.
Her mother doesn't deny this; she knows that my fiance taking legal action could result in damage to her relationship with her family. However, my fiance has just found herself in a desperate situation, and her mother has still not relinquished the inheritance that rightly belongs to her.
What I want to know is as follows: before pursuing legal action, we must know if there is any legal way for my fiance to, of her own devices, gain access to information to confirm that her mother has illegally witheld and/or spent her daughter's inheritance?

I want to know how many total Pokemon are currently possible to obtain (legally) in Pokemon X and Y, including all evolutions and Friend Safari Pokemon.
I just want to be able to look at my Pokedex and see how close I am to having all of the ones that are available as of NOW.
No guesses please
2 AnswersVideo & Online Games7 years agoIs asking for/sharing 3DS friend codes illegal on Yahoo Answers?
I cannot imagine why it would be, but I recently made a post asking for friend codes, and it was eventually deleted. Furthermore, other people I followed asking for friend codes had their answers deleted too.
Is asking for friend codes not allowed on here, and if so, why?
