Depending on the make and model of your router, it's a bit easier then to know the default router's password. In short, you can Google the make and model to get the default password, if it hasn't been changed already.
You can login to your router's configuration/admin page by typing in the IP address of the router connected to your network. You do this using your computer, and it must be connected to the router with a cable. Do the following to find your router's IP.
Go to Start-Run-Type in CMD <Enter>
Type IPCONFIG <Enter>
Look at the third set of numbers (Default Gateway)
It should look something like 192.168.1.1
Open up your Internet Browser
Type in the Gateway address in the Address Line <Enter>
This should take you to the Main Page of your router
So, once you make it to your router's configuration page in your browser, you need to follow the instruction and try entering the password. Many router's use a default password like, Admin, Admin (login name and password).
Good Luck!

generally the password is on a sticker on the router, usually the sticker is underneath the router
alternatively if the sticker isn't there or the password has been changed from the default you can connect your router to your computer via an ethernet cable you can then access the router setup (see your router instructions on how to do this) then change the password to whatever you want

The default password is usually located some ware of the router its self or on the box it came in

Here is one of many links that list the defaults. If you don't know it, you will have to return to factory default and reset it. Most people don't have lot of changes, so factory default is not too far from the original setting.
