i have a decision to make and i don't know which one i should pick?
one of them is booking a flight too Florida in January for two weeks and the other is taking driving lessons . the choice is difficult because ultimately the driving lessons will cost more considering that i want to take the package of ten lessons. I live in New York so commuting is never a problem with the mta system but learning how to drive will ultimately gain me more independence. Can you offer me some advice on what i should do?

My best friend moved from NY to Florida about 3 years ago. She was 25 when she got here and had only driven a few times in NY (without a license) and said that she never needed to. Well...Florida is nothing like NY. Our bus system is a joke (and dangerous). Cabs are ridiculous expensive. Most people that come down to Florida to visit, often rent a car to get around. The beaches are about the only area that you can take a Trolly to get from one beach to the next, but it takes forever to get anywhere, and if you want to go see the some of our sites (night life, clubs, restaurants, etc...) you'd need to drive there.
So, all that being said, my suggestion is pay for the driving lessons and post-pone your trip to Florida. You'll end up paying more for in-town travel down here if you aren't able to drive.
Lastly...my friend got her license 2.5 years ago...it's almost a necessity down here.
Best of luck to you.
