Are there any other cities that you know of..?

That were created/set up or developed due to the investment of Britain, its empire or British business OUTSIDE of the British empire?

An example of the type of thing I am questioning about is Donetsk in the Ukraine. Very much in the news of late...it was created to a certain degree by John Hughes a British businessman and here is a funny poll the inhabitants undertook due to the recent issues there...

http://www.themoscowtimes.com/article/496705.html

now I understand that foreign direct investment outside of the empire was very significant in places like Argentina, China and Siam...a form of informal empire so I am limiting the question to specific examples as per Donetsk not broad international investment.

Interesting looking.

Anything with a "Fort" in it's name in Western Canada was probably set up by the Hudson's Bay company. Many places in Canada were set up by British interests.

    All Middle-East & parts of Far-East.

The currency of Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc. is still "Rial," which comes from "Royal," or "royalty."

    They're carried on shoulders here.

Google "Gholhak Garden" in Iran !!
