Why is that most well off people always win a large amount of money?

Update:

I can't understand why is it that you hear about people winning the Lotto or lottery while they are on holidays or have a good job. Some have won first prize twice. If you won a first prize of more than half a million dollars why would you play again?

Then there are those who have had a good job for many years and never struggled in life only to win a large amount on any lottery.

I always spend a small amount and win it back.

It is good to hear news when poor people win something.

Update 2:

I was buying a few games one day and while I was in a queue a well dressed business man had spent over one hundred dollars on Lotto. I told the women at the counter that I don't spend that much on food in a fortnight. Usually I spend that much on gambling in one whole year.

Update 3:

I am just curious to know why well off people want to spend more money even though they don't know they are better off in society.

I am aware that there isn't much I can do about it but, at least, I can survive on a low income and be grateful for what I do have even if it is only the basic needs.

When the jackpots grow to over $100 million, more people play. A larger cross section of people play too. This is why middle class people win. When jackpots are smaller, these people usually sit it out and let lower income classes build up the jackpots. That's the cruel irony of it. The poorer people get the ball rolling and the richer people often win the big prize.

If you're talking about gambling, it's because they have more money so they can take a larger chance but it's really just pure chance.

If you're curious to know why well off people want to spend more money even though they don't know they are better off in society, it's because they have the money and people tend to use the money for themselves as oppose for others. Not everyone is like that though, it's just that money makes people greedy. If someone has the opportunity to get what they want, they'll take it. If they want to donate it, then they'll donate it. All about what the possessor wants. sorry for being so lengthy, I always go off on rabbit trails

What if that guy in a suit just collects for the office pool, so he's got 20 people in for $10 each?

It's extremely irresponsible for poor people to play the lottery. They need that money for food.

I believe that the ONLY people gambling should be the rich. It is extremely irresponsible for poor people to be buying lottery tickets. If you don't have spare money to throw away, then you don't have money to gamble!

Odds. The more money you have to buy tickets the better your chances are.
