Why do people play the numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6 on the lottery?

Less than half the money staked on the lottery goes into the prize fund. For every £2 ticket, you stand to win on average 96p. Playing 1 - 6 is no more idiotic than playing any other set of numbers. As Samuel Johnson said, a lottery is a tax on the daft.

How do you know everyone doesn't think like that and avoid those numbers? Maybe if you played that combo, you'd be the only one ;)

Also, a lot of people actually think that number is less likely, so they avoid it for that reason. And another benefit of that # is that it's not a birthday.

would you rather split a million bucks with 30 thousand people or split no money with nobody....by the way , after tax and lump sum payment it comes out $17.76 ....six gallons of gas.....ooooo, little gabriel doesn't get his answer....they play those numbers because they think they will win....duh..davidzero gives the advice to expect to lose half your money playing the lottery as the house edge is 50 percent....that how it works...go gamble but plan on losing.....he sounds like PDQ....his goal is to crack the 1000 best answer club.....what ever that gets you.

because it has the same odds as any other 6 digit combo - you would win some of something or a lot of nothing?
