Does Beyonce's song "The Best Thing I Never Had" reflect how women can't let go of past hurts and arrogantly have to hate on men?

...to feel whole? I mean, watch the video. Does the video have a different meaning from the song?

If there was a gender war, it wouldn't be hard to guess which side Beyonce is on.

It's interesting to note that rather than uplifting women with positive examples of women, she chooses to use ad hominem on men.

If a woman is thinking about her ex and how she is the best thing he will never have on her wedding day, how effed up is that? Why can't she just be happy in the moment and be thinking about the future without denigrating men?

To a man it would reflect that.

But it's about a woman who was able to get over and dodge being with the wrong man. A man hurt her but despite being done wrong she got over it and is still living her life to the fullest and is happy.

You are analyzing this entire thing too hard, and reading too much in to it, its really not that damn serious. The song is just about her getting over a man who she thought was the one. She made the song to uplift women in a situation like that. She doesnt "hate men", she hate men who fool women into thinking they care about them and the relationship when in reality they dont

She also sings "irreplaceable". So it's hard to know where she stands.

    Regardless, Jay-Z sucks.
