Shut the breaker off, and turn it back on again.
Many is the time that a breaker will not *appear* to need re-setting, and this does the trick.
If there is no response at the outlet,
and you have tried plugging in something that does work, turn the breaker off
so there will be no chance of a fire if the outlet *is* shorting, and not (yet) tripping the breaker.
