DNS server errors in Windows 8?

I just installed a new modem and wifi router, which are working fine with a bunch of different machines. But my Toshiba Satellite running Windows 8 keeps giving me DNS server errors (specifically "Your DNS server might be unavailable") when I try to load certain pages. For example. I got here fine, but if I try to go to www.yahoo.com, I get "This page can't be displayed." From poking around the internet it seems like this is fixable but I keep getting the message when I try to figure out how to do it. Any thoughts?

Update:

It doesn't matter if I type the name in or if I click on a link, btw.

go into your network settings on the computer (in Control Panel) and make sure DNS is set to Automatic.

Then open a Command Prompt window and type:

    ipconfig /flushdns

    as described here:
