Does the affordable healthcare act work now?

Originally we were told we were going to be able to keep our original insurance plans if we liked. But in the beginning if 2013, I was told that I was going to lose my plan because I wasn't on it prior to a certain date. At the end of 2013, I was informed I would be able to keep it extended through 2014. Recently I was told now I would be able to keep it through 2015 and most likely 2016. Does this mean all the problems were fixed?

It will "work" when it ushers in single payer, which is it's real motive.

You could not keep your plan if the plan was dropped by the employer or rejected by your doctor. There are a bunch of plans on every state insurance exchange to choose from. I dont know about your situation. There was nothing wrong with the insurance plans, only transmitting online applications to insurance companies. Perhaps they should not have had the enrollment online at all.

Devastating failure for those who have it now...particularly those with pre-existing conditions.

Deductibles are so high that these people can not get required life saving help.

Obama-care is the cruelest hoax for those who need the critical care or they will die. Not there.

Your problem has nothing to do with the ACA. Each insurance company....both before and after the healthcare law was created and passed.....provided year long policies. For a full year, you are guaranteed your policy, all of its coverages, and your premium and deductible rates....so long as you pay your monthly premiums. After one year, your policy expires. The same policy may be offered to you again, exactly the same as it was before....or the private insurance company may change the coverages, deductibles, premium costs, or eliminate that particular policy altogether. That is their right as a private company. The ACA simply requires all policies to cover certain screenings and certain surgeries.....and requires that insurance companies cannot drop you from your coverage if you become sick or refuse to cover you if you become ill.....again, so long as you pay your monthly premiums.

Your private insurance company apparently, initially, claimed that it would no longer offer your current policy after 2013.....then changed their mind.

Anything new has kinks in it. Overall Obama care is working for many people.

It sure does! The ACA is more about income redistribution than health care. It redistributes so the very richest get richer, while everyone else struggles. It is doing just what it is supposed to do.
