Just diagnosed bipolar?
So my friend said that the bipolar thing was just something I was going to use as an excuse for everything, and that it's not rly real, and that I hav control, but that they would take it into account. I feel that wasn't a win. I'm trying not to worry about it.. Accept them with limitations. Realise they are damaged and incapable of another reaction.
Any advice? I would rly appreciate.

Yes, it's real, but manageable. The first step is to resolve to never use it as an excuse. You just have a harder road than most. You can get meds for it, but if you don't, reach deep when you feel the rage coming on and find ways to control it.

I am bipolar as well so i can definately relate to this. people are gonna judge sadly it comes with it. but most people are ignorant about it, so heres the deal. bipolar is manageable, im on medication for it and it has helped me a lot. also im in therapy. u CANNOT control your maniac or depressive parts of your bipolar. thats part of the illness. sadly there is no cure. but therapy and meds helped loads with your condition, and u can function properly with it. BUT do not use drugs to get rid of the pain cause it doesnt work. u need perscription meds. drugs will make it worse. i know many people with bipolar who use drugs and they are bipolar and they are miserable. because they are in denial. but if u take care of it the right way u can live a normal life. as for people who dont have it, they will never understand it and u have to ignore the comments.

Actually, now blood tests can show the imbalance in chemicals most people can regulate. It is very real. If you could print out just a brief overview for them, it might help. If they are still acting like that you may want to get some better friends

For any mental problem including bipolar, these few things are helpful follow them-
1) Try to remain busy. If you remain busy in doing some work such as drawing, writing, doing online work etc, you will give less time to become stressful and more time to complete your work.
2) Try to do some physical exercise. If you cannot go out then try to do it in home such as aerobics. You can search google on how it is done. It is something like jumping, stretching your body etc. These are easy and do it 15 minutes daily. This will help your mind to bear pressures. Exercise creates chemicals in brain that helps fight pain and stress. Thus less anxiety and more good mood.
3) Try to laugh as much as you can. Watch comedy movies, programmes. On youtube watch- “just for laughs gags” (search it). It will keep you in light mood.
4) Have a pet such as a dog or a cat. These help to lower down your blood pressure, anxiety and help you be happy as you can have a friend. I would recommend puppy. You will give more time to care and play with them and less time to think negatively.
5) Get up in the morning and go to sleep on time and eat on time. This will help to make your body clock work well and increase satisfaction.
6) After 1 week when you follow all above strictly, you should move on to next step of MEDITATION. This is something that can really help you. Remember, MEDITATION IS TO MIND WHAT EXERCISE IS TO BODY. Exercise help to keep your body healthy and powerful. Meditation helps to keep your mind happy and powerful. I recommend Vipassana meditation. It may be a bit difficult but the results are very good. More info about vipassana meditation here- www.dhamma.org Its free. Doo google search on it to know about its results. It is all over the world.
But do meditation only after you fulfill above things.
7) Another thing is read lots and lots of books of your interest.. It will calm down your mind and improve concentration. Try to read before going for sleep.
8) Try to remain closer to the nature such as greenery, waterfall, ocean etc. It will calm you down. If you can travel then that will be best thing as it will refresh your mind. Choose places of natural beauty. You will feel peaceful.
9) Stay away from video games.
