Is it wrong to date several people at the same time who you don't yet exactly have a relationship with yet?

Update:

So I started online dating and got a few people to try out and go on a date with. The dates are pretty much within a day of each other. Am I right that we don't have a relationship yet? All we've done so far is message online.

I want to know if this is socially expectable, or if I mention it to one of the guys will they think lowly of me? I will be comparing them and will probably choose one and break it off after the 1st or 2nd date with everyone else. Thanks friends.
