Honest question: should you even do cardio if you already lift weights and work a physically active job?
A physically active job is basically long-duration, low-intensity cardio. I lift weights 3 days a week for 45 minutes to an hour and do full-body workouts using only compound exercises. I was thinking of adding one quick 20-minute HIIT cardio workout a week on a non-lifting day, just so my heart muscle gets worked out as well. I do a lot of walking at work (I'm a security officer) as well as going for walks with my girlfriend on days that I don't lift weights. What are your guy's thoughts on the matter? Please and thanks.

Bench press, Pushups and Chinups for upper body strength.
Deadlifts and Squats for lower body strength.

I would imagine if you lift heavy weights with low reps for strength and do high-intensity interval sprints for speed and stamina, you would have an advantage and can easily gain the upper hand on anyone in martial arts. Being able to punch, kick and throw harder as well as being more efficient in taking your opponent down using grappling techniques.
