Stealing land would be if Egypt was annexing other people's land and/or creating settlements in Palestinian land and Egyptians were coming in hordes to settle there. Egypt has fought blood and sweat for the Palestinians. No other nation has fought for them as much as the Egyptians. People remember that and have a soft spot for the country. You can't compare the two.

Well, the media only cares about things that sell. Innocent people murdered that no one ever heard of? No money in it for them so silence. But someone criticizing a politician like Obama? Makes national news because it sells.

I did read about it but this is something better to be explained by a true Egyptian that knows the story inside out. It's a sad news too of course.. :)

western governments aren't allies with egypt (in the way it is with israel). Egypt doesn't have lobbies in western governments. Egypt doesn't press for england and france to send their soldiers to die for unjust imperialist goals of israel.

It is no secret that it is Egypts right to protect it self from Hamas traveling in either direction along its border with war supplies. Even with all their internal problems they are finding the resolve and resources to do the honorable thing.

1) I'm pretty sure Rafah is an Egyptian city in North Sinai - which is in Egypt, not in Palestinian land.

Please get your geography right.
