That would depend on who's police. In America the courts recently ruled that police officer's need not have any intligence at all. Saveing manys jobs there. So low 40s in America. Were I live probably around 115 on IQ. As most start in security and from there the best of the best make the grade to be police. Mabey higher.

Much higher than the average IQ of the criminals they pursue, that's for sure. Anyone with a decent IQ should be able to find a legitimate job, instead of taking on a life of crime.

There is only one department I'm aware of that tests IQ (New London, CT) so there are no widespread studies.
This article from ABC claims officers average an IQ of 104, which is slightly higher than the general public

Same as the general publics general IQ. It is just a job not a college.
