What do you feel are the pros and cons of Facebook?

Update:

Whilst I can see that it may be a way of keeping in touch with people and getting snapshots of what they are up to in their life, a lot of people seem to just get as many 'friends' as possible and aren't really interested in them; Point in case today when I heard someone say they didn't really care if 'x' unfriended them - then why have them as a 'friend' in the first place? Then there's all this 'liking' a post and people feeling bad if they don't get many likes, not to mention the time wasted!

I recently deactivated my Facebook because it was distracting me from my college work and thought I'd reactivate it when I was done but to be honest I've had no urge to and i haven't been on In months! I really don't think that Facebook is as good as everyone thinks it is, I still keep in good contact with my friends which to be honest on Facebook everyone you are friends with you wouldn't really talk to.. so I'm still in contact with the ones I want to and don't feel like I'm missing out at all! Why don't you try deactivating it for a week - you can just as easily activate it again if you feel the need to :)
