My fellow Conservatives, how would an Obama executive order for amnestybe impeachable? Wouldn't it be a use of his powers to pardon?

I am not for an amnesty order, but I have seen people on here talking about impeaching Obama if he issues one. So if he used the words "pardon for their violations of immigration law", would an impeachment have a leg to stand on?

Update:

@ Daydoom: The Language in the Constitution just says " ...and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offenses against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment." It doesn't actually mention citizenship or conviction. So technically he could pardon them.

@ Pythagoras: I agree.

You hear many screaming all sorts of crap, it wouldn't be impeachable, the congress couldn't even openly challenge it or take it to the courts, a private group would have to, it takes years to work through the system too. All that could be done would be to deny funds for it and then pass legislation that would override it, as Obama is suggesting. Only thing is, he still doesn't need to pass it and the sticking point has not changed, Border security, the libs/Obama wont do it for real, oh they say they will, even say it is part of the senates bill, but in that bill, one person can decide if the border is secure enough or not. Obama has told us the border has been secured from the beginning of his administration, he has told us that he has deported more then Bush, we now know that is not the case, that he lied, once again

Only if the person had good grounds for the reason the crossed illegally. Then he can. If it's not a burden on the country, people, and things, we have, and are, for ladies and gentlemen from another country to want to visit family and friends here, and there either way, respectfully so, keeping it this way. By the book, with the policy, and we each have a right that makes the law civil. About this, and applies to all .Unless it takes the right of another, and is left with nothing to use with a right. It's wrong, and what they do is unpardonable. They go...back to bad where they belong and came from for creating it bad there, doesn't mean we want it here. What they will is what they have to do there in making it good, before they can come back here with it. Some of us plan on having it good too, the way we want it. When it's all good..no problem.

First a pardon is an admitting a crime occurred. So, you're trying to tell me that you Liberals are now going to change your tunes on those you call undocumented? After all, from POTUS on down none of you admit these people are breaking any just law. The whole argument is based on your mistaken idea that we US born are the illegals.

In other words, to pardon is to admit there really IS such a thing as illegal aliens. It admits our laws are proper and JUST. Obama won't do that.

And Congress can still act on what ever POTUS does. Or, charge him for improper use of his powers.

The President can not change any existing law without going through the

Congress. This is what Obama would be doing. Causing his immediate

    process for Impeachment to begin.

Illegal aliens still broke our immigration laws. Not just by ignoring them, but by blatantly flouting our laws. Obama pardoning 40 million invaders is like aiding and abetting the enemy. Our country is under a full scale invasion encouraged by Obama.

Twice, Obama has sworn under oath to protect this country against invaders. He refuses to do his part of the job as president. That is why he should be impeached. Then jailed for his other crimes

He might be able to claim that as a defense, but we are a nation of checks and balances. In theory, a President could use his power of pardon to free every single inmate in every single jail, which I do not think is the intent of the power of pardon.

In my opinion, if Obama was to do something along the lines of what you suggest, you would see the Republican controlled Congress do the following:

    a. Force the Supreme Court to rule if this action is an over-extention of Presidential power.

    b. Basically tell Obama that they are not willing to work with him on ANY issue until this is resolved.

They are not citizens, they have not been convicted of any crime and therefore they cannot be pardoned, giving criminals amnesty would be a violation of the constitution and Obama's oath of office both impeachable.

Executing such an order without Congressional Approval will always be impeachable.

Reagan grants amnesty = No biggie

Obama does the exact same thing = High crime

Come on cons. You have other reasons but this isn't one of them.

Why impeach the guy when he continues to strangle himself and poison his presidency. Let him rot in his own excrement in the Oval office.

Besides the Republicans don't need to be sidelined by this. They need to lead by passing bill after bill and sending them to the White House and broadcasting them to the American people.

So, that America can see that Obama wants to play games and start fights.

Republicans want to pass legislation on jobs, jobs, and more jobs.
