ldr boyfriend saw my message but didnt reply. tried again after half and hour, no response?

we've been together for 7 months. i texted him on whatsapp earlier but he read it and went offline after that. so maybe he was busy. but now it's been half an hour so i tried calling him bc i wanted to say goodnight before 12(his phone auto blocks all calls after 12 except from his family) but he didnt pick up. then i texted asking if he was busy but he didnt reply and was last online the last time he saw my first message. help? idk what to do? or am i overreacting? if i am, what should i do, im so embarrassed :/
