Do Liberals want marijuana legalized so that more people will think that their policies make sense?

Nah. Mostly because weed is safer than alcohol, all over-the-counter and prescription drugs, and even safer than caffeine. No person has ever died from an overdose of weed, but people have died from overdoses of cold medicine.

And, the only reason it was criminalized in the first place was corporate greed - to protect the profits of the pulp/paper industry - because hemp was about to become the most sane replacement for cutting down half the trees on the planet - cleaner, stronger paper & fiber, the plant grows like a weed and oxygenates the environment, so...they started the yellow journalism campaign, changed the name of the plant to ‘marijuana,’ because it sounded scarier, and off we went.

Nixon’s own commission on marijuana recommended that it be decriminalized, but Nixon chose to ignore the experts.

First of all Demokkkrats are not liberals they are freedom haters and socialists just like your party, the Republikkkans. Secondly they do not favor legalizing marijuana as is evidenced by their Lord and Savior Obama sending the DEA into Colorado to bust sellers of marijuana. Thirdly the pot smokers I know see right through Obama's lie. Fourthly, you are a moron.

Liberals and conservatives both are all over the board when it comes to their opinions about marijuana legalization. Some want it. Some don't. However, when it comes to medical marijuana, most people want it to be legal.

Why are you against it? More taxes in your pockets...oh, I mean governments pockets. Of course republican backed big buisnesses won't find a way to make a fortune off this. They didn't do that with tobacco did they..oh wait, yeah they did ;)

Liberals support personal freedoms. It's sad that you attack and deplore freedom, although that's to be expected from big government, anti freedom republicans.
