My kitten is also like this. When I first brought him in, I bought him a cat bed from Petco. He used it for maybe like five to eight times. That was already me trying my hardest to make him use it by constantly spraying catnip around his bed and putting his mouse toys in it. I even bought him a cuddle cat toy which you could microwave and it's purpose was to mimic body warmth. Even with that, he would still follow me anywhere and would want to sleep where I was sleeping, my bed. I would try to put him to his cat bed, but he would return to my bed. I felt bad because he was so little and my bed was high, so he would take forever to climb my bed. I would oftentimes hear a thud because he kept falling from trying to climb up, but he was so persistent. It was hard for him because he has a bad leg. He would keep trying. It broke my heart, so I took him and placed him in the bed and decided i'll just share it with him.The end

Do you realize there are thousands of cat owners who are jealous of you?
I have one cat who sleeps on my chest or stretchs out on my chest and stomach and if I won't move on to my back he sleeps on my pillow and head.
Some cats want the warmth, some want the closeness, some are bonded so closely with their owner that they need to feel loved and secure. Count yourself one of the lucky ones!

It's a combination of the body heat you provide and the emotional comfort of being close to you.

its because they are often awake at night, but they know their owner sleeps, so they feel the need to protect their owners, they are extremely territorial, so this makes them feel more macho, as if they are protecting you. this is also the reason they sometimes bring u dead rats or mice and things. its because they are natural born hunters, and they never see their owners hunt, so they bring us food so we wont starve. :)
