Lazy vs active state of mind?

Do you ever feel as though one side of you wants to be lazy, inactive, do nothing in life, be mediocre, have no future plans, never do anything tough, be greedy of free time, or be a couch potato? This side is like the sadness you feel when your summer break has just ended back in those high school days, or like when you're leaving for college...

Then there's the side of you that wants to be all they can be, do everything, always be active, have a tough lifestyle, never sleep or rest, or be just completely perfect? This is something like an optimistic, non-stop personality...

If you do feel this sense of two inactive and active sides of yourself, why do you think you have them? Why do you always want to be on that very same summer break you were before? Any other thoughts?

It's sort of like the thought: "I wish this break could be just a few days longer," or " I really dread going back to work on Monday."

I sometimes have a lazy state of mind, but it's usually because I convince myself to (weird? Lol) I mean: I'm EXTREMELY ambitious. I spend nearly all of my time pursuing several goals, but some days I will feel really sick or sad and I will be like no! I want to use EVERY day to better myself, even if it's just reading a few articles in my field. I have a particularly bad habit of still using electronics when I have a headache. Anyway, then I will be like " you are alwys working toward your goals and rarely take time out for rest and that's important too." Then the other half will be like "FINE.. We can sit on the couch an look at cat pics and watch Star Trek and talk to friends... God what a pushover I am"

    STATE OF MIND.

    - by Walter D. Wintle.

If you think you are beaten, you are

If you think you dare not, you don't,

If you like to win, but you think you can't

It is almost certain you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you're lost

For out of the world we find,

Success begins with a fellow's will

It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are

You've got to think high to rise,

You've got to be sure of yourself before

You can ever win a prize.

    Life's battles don't always go

To the stronger or faster man,

But soon or late the man who wins

Is the man WHO THINKS HE CAN!

These are called moods. No biggy unless you can't shake the bummer mode and want to have some kind of decent life. Then psychotherapy and/or medication may be needed.
