Do you understand Bible truth?

Do you understand Bible truth? If so, you have been richly blessed. When an author writes a book, he or she usually fashions it to appeal to a specific group of people. Some books are written for the highly educated, others for children, still others for those in specialized fields. While the Bible is easily available to all, it is meant to be understood and appreciated by a particular group of people. Jehovah crafted it for the humble, the meek ones of the earth. Such people can grasp the sense of the Bible, whatever their education, culture, station in life, or ethnic group. (1 Timothy 2:3, 4) On the other hand, an understanding of Bible truth is denied to those not rightly disposed, no matter how intelligent or educated they may be. The haughty, the proud, cannot grasp the precious truths of God’s Word. (Matthew 13:11-15; Luke 10:21; Acts 13:48) Only God could produce such a book.

Psalm 37:11- the meek will possess the earth,+

And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.+

Your question can only be answered in the affirmative if a person has be "cleared" by God to understand. What? Is not the Bible written for everyone? (John 3:16)

Jesus answered than part very clearly in Mathew 13:10-17

"10 So the disciples came and said to him: “Why do you speak to them by the use of illustrations?”+ 11 In reply he said: “To you it is granted to understand the sacred secrets+ of the Kingdom of the heavens, but to them it is not granted. 12 For whoever has, more will be given him, and he will be made to abound; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.+ 13 That is why I speak to them by the use of illustrations; for looking, they look in vain, and hearing, they hear in vain, nor do they get the sense of it.+ 14 And the prophecy of Isaiah is being fulfilled in their case. It says: ‘You will indeed hear but by no means get the sense of it, and you will indeed look but by no means see.+ 15 For the heart of this people has grown unreceptive, and with their ears they have heard without response, and they have shut their eyes, so that they might never see with their eyes and hear with their ears and get the sense of it with their hearts and turn back and I heal them.’+

16 “However, happy are your eyes because they see and your ears because they hear.+ 17 For truly I say to you, many prophets and righteous men desired to see the things you are observing but did not see them,+ and to hear the things you are hearing but did not hear them."

What problem with individual people did Jesus expose with his answer? Look at an account in Acts 13 to find the answer.. See Acts 13: In fact read the whole chapter to make sure you get the context straight. Focus an the last part of verse 48 to see the point.."....and all those who were rightly disposed for everlasting life became believers."

The bottom Line then becomes clear. God examines hearts (Jeremiah 17:9, 10) and makes sure the ones he approves come to Jesus to be taught (John 6:44)

The heart is not about high IQ. It is not about whether a person speaks a certain language or has a certain Bible translation. Those things are not relevant to God. But what the inner man is, what the heart reveals, that is important to God. In fact, to prove that this is true, note what 1 John 5:20 reveals as to mental acumen. In 21st century English this verse reads...

" But we know that the Son of God has come,+ and he has given us insight* so that we may gain the knowledge of the one who is true. And we are in union with the one who is true,+ by means of his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and life everlasting."

The word translated "insight" Can also read accurately as " intellectual capacity or mental perception". ,

    Bottom Line

Those who only God deems as acceptable to him gain an accurate understanding of Bible truth. And Jehovah God makes sure that happens.

After that, it depends on the individual; what he does with that understanding. Will he follow what God wants? Or will he succumb to the desires Satan plants in front of every man? Consider Cain. and read the conversation leading up to the death of his younger brother, Abel. (Gen 4:1-7)

Now that you have accurate knowledge. what will you do with it? Consider this. Have free will means accepting an awesome responsibility.

You're selling the bible. All sales people are the same. Manipulative, trying to create demand where there is no need. The bible is very old, and still it hasn't led to a utopia. It's a dysfunctional self-help book, and if it could help those who read it to be like Jesus, then those who read the bible would be like Jesus. They are not like Jesus. So it doesn't work. That is a fact. If GW Bush is a Christian, how can he start a war, how can he abide a society that rewards the wealthy ambitious people and creates an underclass. How could Obama as a Christian order the killing of Osama Bin Ladin? All these famous Christians you would tell me are not proper Christians; well, what about Catholic priests who molest kids, are all those not proper Christians? How many examples of un-Christ like behavior from Christs followers does it take before one asks the question: "does it even work, this bible thing?"

You're a sales man selling a product that doesn't have a warranty. You've deceived yourself first, and then that allows you to deceive others.

If you were meek, you'd shut your mouth and never impose anything on anybody.

You have become educated by the bible as others learn maths or geography. You criticize those who use logic against your position, whilst you 'yourself' use Christian logic to fool yourself and fool others. The learning you have inherited is not solving the worlds problems and is not solving yours.

You need a book and to be taught the bible, or, you would never follow this course.

    Sure, I do.

    Because...

You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. Rom. 8:9....But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him. 1 John 2:27...But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12...Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. John 3:5.

All believers that receive Jesus as Lord and Savior are adopted as children of God. When you're adopted as a child of God, the Holy Spirit is given as a gift. He is the teacher of all things. If you don't have Him dwelling within you, then you don't belong to Christ, and if you don't belong to Christ, you don't belong to the Father.

I also know that the Bible was written and is open for all who wish to read it. It is not written primarily for a small, select group of people, namely, the 144,000. What I do absolutely know is that if a group of men from New York can get you to actually, seriously believe that heretical nonsense, you are 100% completely under their control.

As the original rant and the many responses clearly demonstrate, everybody has a take on the Bible that will not work. They are are potentially useful for some and, as one response (he was too lazy to respond, just dropped in a snarky graphic) points out, every response, including his, will be total bullschytt for some.

The Bible, particularly the Pentateuch, was first written down to document stories told over a campfire by nomads who couldn't write. It is poetic and beautiful, but need not be true and accurate.

    Bible truth is an oxymoron.

the bible was never intended to contain anything true.

It is meant to control huge numbers of people by fraudulent means.

Amazingly, that same fraud still persists today. even long after we all know better than that.

Superstition gets a grip....the rest is as they say, history.

What I do understand is that there is a difference between what the bible truly says and Watchtower's ever-changing, erroneous claims about what the bible means. Do you understand that difference?

Do you understand that the Bible is devoid of truth? If so, you are an average or above average person. If you think the Bible is anywhere near even just 50% true, you lack the ability to think logically.

It does not depend on your own effort. Understanding is "given" to us by Him. It was not given to Pharao of Egypt. The Father examines your heart, and if He approves it, He takes you to His Son.

    The word "Truth" means something.

Sadly, it is something you will never understand
